Australian Mathematics Competition (AMC) 2022
Tuesday, September 13, 2022
The Australian Mathematics Competition (AMC) is run by the Australian Mathematics Trust and is an engaging 30-problem competition that demonstrates the importance and relevance of mathematics in students’ everyday lives. Australia’s leading educators and academics, with a deep understanding of our national curriculum standards, actively design the unique AMC problems each year. This year we had 24 students from Cedar Campus and 40 students from St Joseph’s Campus participate in the competition, which was held in the first week in August.
We just received the results and certificates, and are proud to announce that our students received:
- 9 Participation certificates
- 29 Proficiency certificates (score above 32 points)
- 24 Credit certificates (score in the top 55% of students’ year and region)
- 2 Distinction certificates (score in the top 20% of students’ year and region)
Our highest achievers were Charbel Maroun in Year 8 and Charbel Abboud in Year 6, both with an impressive score of 78 points!
