Being Sustainable at Home!

At Antonine College we have a dedicated team to promoting sustainable lifestyles in and outside of our school. Our Earth Care team has worked tirelessly this year to introduce new and innovative ways for our students at Cedar Campus to be more food wise and eco-friendly. Our next mission is to help promote this within the homes of our wonderful families.

Every now and then, we will post different tips and tricks to being more food wise and sustainable at home!

Food Organics Garden Organics (FOGO) Bins

FOGO stands for Food Organics Garden Organics. It is a convenient and environmentally friendly way to dispose of your organic waste. Each individual council has implemented the FOGO initiative in their area. You can view more information about the purpose and use of the FOGO bin from the downloadable link on this page.

If you haven’t already received a FOGO bin you can order one from your local council! It’s a small and convenient caddy that you can leave in your kitchen to help remove your waste in a more efficient and environmentally friendly way. You can put food waste, leaves, twigs, branches and even grass clippings and weeds! Examples of food waste include fruit and vegetable scraps, meat and bones, egg shells, bread, pasta and leftovers.

This caddy is just one small change in our rubbish habits that we can make to help take a ‘greener’ step forward to a sustainable future.
