Cedar Campus Library Events

Wednesday, May 04, 2022

May is National Family Reading Month and to celebrate, three fantastic reading events have been organized for the students at Cedar Campus.

1. Scholastic Book Fair

There was a very excited buzz in the library this week as students flocked to the Book Fair to buy engaging, quality books, and a variety of stationery items. Students need to read what they love and are interested in. Giving students choice in what they read encourages reading for pleasure. Congratulations the following students who each won a $10 voucher for their winning colouring competition entries:

  • Tia Ghandour FC
  • Jasmine Malaeb 1B
  • Maria Essey 2A
  • Thomas Jerjees 3B
  • Akram El-Fahkri 4A
  • Martine Abou Zeid 5A
  • Charbel Abboud 6B

2. Read More in May Challenge

Go to scholastic.com.au/nfrm to download a reading log and register. Each day in May, students find at least 10 minutes a day to read by themselves or with their family. Students can win one of five $200 book packs. Every student who registers for the challenge online will receive a participation certificate and a Scholastic book voucher.

3. National Simultaneous Storytime (NSS)

This year all students from Foundation - Year 6 will participate in NSS as part of Earthcare - Laudato Si Week. The book chosen to be read on Wednesday, 25 May for NSS is Family Tree by Josh Pyke. Students will be reading the book and completing art and literacy activities in class.
