Counselling Services at Antonine College

Wednesday, March 02, 2022

Dear Parents / Guardians,

Antonine College provides counselling to students by a qualified and experienced Counsellor, who works between both campuses. Counselling services include, individual counselling and support, group counselling, and incursions to enhance student wellbeing.

Counselling at Antonine College is a confidential service intended to help students address their concerns, come to a greater understanding of themselves, learn effective coping strategies and accomplish individual goals. In the instance a student is a risk to themselves, a risk to others or at risk of being harmed, the Counsellor will disclose relevant information to their Parents / Guardian, the Principal, Wellbeing Leader, and on occasion external agencies in the interests of the student’s safety.

The College Counsellor does work with parents where appropriate, however, there will be times where parents are unaware of sessions as we need to consider the students wellbeing.

The support the College Counsellor provides is intended to be brief intervention, therefore, with consent, referrals are made to other mental health or appropriate services external to Antonine College (Headspace, Children’s Hospital, ect.).

If you have any questions or require further information regarding the counselling service available at Antonine College, please do not hesitate to contact the school on 9354 1377.

Yours sincerely,

Miss Alex Dennis
