Interview with a reader

Tuesday, March 08, 2022

Around Cedar Campus we have posters going up featuring different students showcasing their favourite books. The posters include the students own words about why they like the book, where they read at home, what they enjoy about reading and who they read with in their family.

This promotes reading and allows our students to feel connected as part of the Antonine family. This links strongly to the way literacy is valued in the Victorian Curriculum. For example, in Year 1 students are expected to "Express preferences for specific texts and authors and listen to the opinions of others". In Year 2, students are expected to "Identify aspects of different types of literary texts that entertain, and give reasons for personal preferences".
