Laudato Si Week Cedar Campus

Friday, May 27, 2022

Pope Francis has written a letter addressed to every person on this planet, asking us all to protect our common home, the Earth. His letter is called Laudato Si which means 'Praise Be To You'. From Monday 23rd – Friday 27th Antonine College celebrated Laudato Si Week.

On Monday we marked the beginning of the important week by participating in a no technology hour. No teacher or student technology was used in order to combat energy waste. Lights in the corridors were also turned off to show our commitment to the cause.

On Tuesday students used recycled goods to create an artwork in class. This included scrap paper at school or boxes brought in from home.

On Wednesday students participated in National Simultaneous Story Time. The focus for this event was on the theme of Family Trees which include our family, community and the care for nature and life.

Finally, on Friday students were rostered on to go out into the school environment and clean up any excess rubbish!

It was a great week spent caring for our Earth and Gods creations. As a school community we are working towards making Laudato Si week a lifelong commitment. Together we can help protect our common home.
