Olives picked off the tree
Traditionally, picking olives season is a major event in our culture, it is part of the heritage and it is done by hand.
All students from Foundation to year 5 picked olives from our school garden. Students were very excited visiting our school garden, thrilled to participate in the process of making olives
Picking Olives
Pluck the olives from the olive bush or tree by hand.
Press down on the olives with a kitchen pitter or rocks.
Rinse the olives under cold water to remove dirt.
Ingredients
- Place the olives in a container
- cut a round large Lemon
- Cups raw olives more as needed
- 2 cups water, more as needed
- 2 tablespoons kosher salt
- 1 small Chilli
- 1 tablespoons oil
