“The season that could’ve been”

If I/the team could summarise this season in 2 words, they would be “What if”. The season drew to a close on Thursday 3rd of November where Antonine travelled to La Trobe Stadium to compete against the ladder leaders- Caroline Chisholm College. Requiring a win and Thomas Carr College to lose to make the finals, we started off with some changes in positions due to some players absent, adopting an attacking formation. Unfortunately, Caroline Chisholm came out on top and won. Throughout the season we saw some excellent performances from players, in particularly Nicholas Toma, Ali El Saleh, Lucas Shamoon and Jemi Aldoski.

Nicholas, the team captain, led from the front, scoring and assisting goals, but also tracking back to help the defence on many occasions. Ali was critical to the team as he made numerous great saves throughout the season, often keeping us in games. Lucas’ accurate passes to the striker and wingers played an important part when we attacked and Jemi was integral to the defence, distributing the ball well and clearing it when the opposition attacked.

We look to 2023 now
