Coming up in Term 2
Celebrating National Family Reading Month
May is always an exciting time in the Cedar Campus Library as we celebrate National Family Reading Month with a series of vibrant events designed to promote a love of books and reading.
Students will enjoy the Scholastic Book Fair, running from Tuesday 28 April to Friday 1 May, offering a great selection of new titles for all ages. Later in the month, our Foundation to Year 2 students will take part in National Simultaneous Storytime on Wednesday 27 May, featuring Luna Roo the Kangaroo Baller by Adam Jackson and Adrian Lloyd, illustrated by Jake Minton.
Throughout May, students are also encouraged to take part in the Read More in May Challenge. Families are encouraged to read together for at least ten minutes every day in May. By registering for the challenge, families will be eligible to win one of ten Dav Pilkey prize packs valued at $350 each. Register for the challenge by clicking the link here: https://scholastic.com.au/nfrm/nfrm-home/
Each week in term 2 a Library STEM Club will be held for students in Foundation to Year 3, offering hands-on activities in science, technology, engineering and maths. Sessions run on Wednesdays (Foundation & Year 1) and Thursdays (Year 2 & Year 3) during break 1 and are proudly led by our enthusiastic 5B student leaders.
