Recently Antonine College was one of six recipients across Melbourne of the Rerum Novarum Social Justice Grant - $1,000 to use towards a social justice project.
On Tuesday the 4th of August, students from the Year 9 and Year 10 Catch the Wave students were invited to a workshop to learn more about the history of Catholic Social Teaching, including the Rerum Novarum encyclical, and the importance of doing social justice well; student-led, sustainable, and long-lasting.
Students began working on a social justice initiative which their classes will work on before the end of this term. As part of the Spiritus Program, all students are given the opportunity to complete a social justice action linked to the Corporal Works of Mercy (Matthew 25), and this will be the case with this action. Stay tuned for more details!
