Following a successful Q&A session at our College Assembly with Constables Luke and Alex, our Year 11 Legal Studies class had the opportunity to ask targeted questions related to police powers, as well as summary and indictable offences. While students were initially hesitant, they gradually gained confidence and engaged in deeper discussion, posing thoughtful questions about the role of police in upholding justice, including the rights of the accused and victims and the challenges that brings.
Most importantly, students benefited from hearing firsthand insights into how police work to keep the community safe, providing an authentic and valuable real-world connection to their learning.
