As part of their People of God unit, our Year 5 students visited the Mary MacKillop Heritage Centre to learn about the life and legacy of Australia’s first saint, Saint Mary MacKillop. Students also toured St Patrick’s Cathedral, where they celebrated Mass together.
In a wonderful and unexpected moment, the first reading at Mass was the very passage that inspired our school theme, God is Love, reminding us that God’s Word continues to guide and affirm our journey as a faith-filled community.
It was a meaningful day of faith, learning, and reflection, providing students with a deeper appreciation of our Catholic heritage and the inspiring example of Saint Mary MacKillop.
