Year 8 Food Technology – Indigenous Foods

This term, Year 8 students explored Indigenous Foods, learning about native ingredients, traditional knowledge and sustainable practices. They investigated bush herbs, spices and fruits, and cooked delicious kangaroo burgers to experience these flavours in a practical way. Through hands-on cooking and research, students built confidence in the kitchen while deepening their understanding and respect for Australia’s First Nations food traditions, making the unit both meaningful and engaging
