Year 9 Drama

Year 9 Drama students have enjoyed a rich and varied term, beginning with an exploration of Stanislavski’s techniques and the art of creating truthful, believable characters on stage. After building these foundational skills, they shifted into Theatre in Education, discovering how performance can be used to engage and inspire younger audiences.

Their hard work culminated in a delightful stage adaptation of The Very Hungry Caterpillar. A selection of students travelled to Cedar campus, where they performed for the Year 2 cohort, bringing the classic story to life with a warm sense of play. It was a wonderful opportunity to apply their skills in a real world setting and experience the joy of performing for an enthusiastic young audience.

Next term, they will begin rehearsals for the Year 9 production to be performed later this year. As for the tale… for now let’s just say it has been told for millennia and features a few challenges that would test even the bravest of heroes.
