Each year, as part of the Year 9 Forum, students are given the opportunity to put forward proposals for improvements across the College, encouraging them to share their ideas and play an active role in shaping their school community.
Last year, Issac Hurmiz and Anthony Chalhoub put forward the idea of having a statue of St Maroun at the College. We are proud to have seen their idea become a reality.
Last week, this student-led initiative reached a special milestone when the statue of St Maroun was blessed by His Excellency Bishop Antoine-Charbel Tarabay during his visit to Antonine College.
Another proposal brought forward through the Year 9 Forum came from Tatiana El Nachar, Isabelle Saad, Isabel Abdullah and Holly Wright, who suggested the installation of a sanitary product dispenser in the College sickbay. Their thoughtful proposal has also been implemented, providing a practical resource to support the needs and wellbeing of students.
These initiatives are wonderful examples of the value of student voice and what can be achieved when our students are encouraged to identify opportunities, share their ideas and contribute to positive change within their school community.
We congratulate these students on their meaningful contributions and look forward to seeing the ideas our students will continue to bring forward through the Year 9 Forum.
