Year 10 students took part in a practical cooking class focused on reducing food waste. The class was divided into two groups with the tasks being to either use overripe bananas to make delicious muffins or making mini pizzas with a dough made from yogurt and flour and toppings which if not used, would be otherwise discarded.
Through this practical, students explored the idea of sustainable cooking practices and the importance of minimising food waste in our own lives by being resourceful and environmentally responsible.
