Our Year 12 VET Business students recently enjoyed an educational excursion to the Yakult factory in Dandenong on Wednesday the 5th August. Students gained valuable insights into real-world business operations and manufacturing processes.
During the visit, students learned about Yakult's history, marketing strategies, production systems, quality control measures, and customer distribution networks. They had the opportunity to observe the manufacturing process firsthand and see how business concepts studied in the classroom are applied in a large-scale commercial environment. Students were particularly interested in the live culture, having an opportunity to see and smell the probiotic.
The tour provided students with a practical understanding of key VET Business topics, including operations management, workplace organisation, customer service, and sustainability. Students also gained an appreciation for the importance of innovation, efficiency, and quality assurance in maintaining a successful business. The excursion was an engaging and informative experience, helping students connect their theoretical learning to industry practice while exploring potential career pathways in business and manufacturing.
The highlight of the tour for many students was the opportunity to enjoy a complimentary Yakult at the end of the visit, with students enthusiastically sampling the product they had just seen being produced and packaged. The students represented our school exceptionally well throughout the excursion and should be highly commended for their behaviour, maturity, and respectful conduct. They were attentive during presentations, engaged thoughtfully with staff, and followed all instructions responsibly.
