Our Year 7 Drama students have spent the term diving into the wonderfully playful world of Clowning. Through a series of energetic workshops, they’ve been learning how clowns use physicality, imagination, and bold character choices to communicate often without relying on words. One of the highlights has been the “invisible obstacle course,” where students navigated imaginary challenges using exaggerated movement and expressive storytelling.
As they prepare for their final clown assessments, scheduled perfectly for April Fools’ Day, each student has been asked to bring in one item of clothing that reflects their unique clown persona. Whether it’s an oversized tie, a quirky hat, or a colourful accessory, these items will help bring their characters to life in class.
It’s been a joyful, laughter filled unit, and we can’t wait to see their performances.
