Bus Service

Antonine College Bus Service

We offer an extensive bus service which supports more than 750 students to travel to and from the College everyday. Our service covers more than 40 suburbs across north and north-west Melbourne and includes communal and door-to-door stops. We also transport students between Cedar Campus and Saint Joseph Campus in the morning and afternoon.

We have our own fleet of minibuses, as well as a contracting service to external bus operators.

We regularly review our bus service and plan to include additional communal stops and services as we expand to develop a more efficient service, with more communal stops.

There are two core elements to our bus system:

  • Safety: students and drivers arrive and return home safely.
  • Reliability: the bus service is extensive, efficient and dependable for transport needs.

Safety

As an accredited bus operator, it is our duty to ensure the safe operation of the bus service for students and drivers. Users of the service must follow our College Bus Policy and Expectations, including the legal requirement to always wear a seatbelt.

We use the Roscar Attendance System which allows us to track and monitor performance of buses and access incident reporting and emergency management to ensure the safety of students and drivers.

The Roscar Attendance System requires students to use their student ID cards to tap on and off the bus. All Year 3 -Year 12 bus students must use their student ID cards. Students in Foundation - Year 2 have ID fobs attached to their school bag.

The Roscar Attendance System helps us to manage the bus service and ensure it runs on time. In the future, it will provide GPS location monitoring for families to track where their children are on their journey to and from school.

Reliability

In 2025, we partnered with STAVLINK to introduce additional coaches and minibuses. This has given us greater flexibility in our bus routes and minimised cancellation of buses due to unforeseen operational circumstances.

We currently operate 38 bus routes and strive to keep cancellations to a minimum and only do so in exceptional and unavoidable situations.

We have a dedicated Transport Manager, whose role is to ensure our routes are the most efficient for our families, to manage College-employed drivers and liaise with STAVLINK.

Bus/Coach allocation

Students are allocated to a bus or coach based upon their residential address and the appropriate bus or coach for the efficient and effective provision of our service.

Although the bus service is extensive, it is not possible to cover all suburbs. Please contact Bus Services on 9354 1377 or busservices@antonine.catholic.edu.au to confirm the service for your address.

Service adjustments and bus allocations are planned for the beginning of school term, but may be made at any time throughout the year for operational purposes. Parents will receive advance notice of any service or allocation changes.

Availability on our services is limited. Changes to residential arrangements and new applications are subject to availability and waiting periods may apply.

Application (forms available only via PAM)

A Bus Service Application form must be carefully completed for each family requiring the service.

Parents must complete a Bus Cancellation form if they need to terminate the service. Upon receipt of the form, bus fees will be adjusted accordingly.

Parents are required to notify the College in writing regarding a change of address by completing the Change of Details form as soon as possible.
