Buddies – Year 6 and Foundation

At Cedar Campus, our Buddies program is an important part of Pastoral Care. The foundation students love working with their older buddies, having a Year 6 friend to help them in the playground and feeling loved by an older student in the school. For the Year 6s, having a buddy provides an opportunity for leadership, gives them someone to help and care for, and provides a time where they are loved and adored. This week, our Buddies session had a literacy focus. Year 6 buddies read picture fiction to their Foundation students, and talked about developing a shared love of reading.
